TASK

Create a print map based on the journey of the Donner Party

BACKGROUND

Print based map inspired by the Donner Party Journey. The Donner Party journeyed west in 1846, hitting multiple delays they spent the winter in the snowy Sierra Nevada mountain range.

Roughly 90 people departed on the Oregon Trail in the spring of 1846. They took an untested route called Hastings Cutoff, which proved to be disastrous. It is estimated that out of the roughly 90 people, only 45 reached California in 1847.
